Memorial Day Parade
Colonel Joseph C. Gelormino, Marshal of the Memorial Day Parade here Monday Morning, May 30, issued the following order, designating the line of march and formation of organizations in the parade.

Organizations participating in the parade will assemble at 8:45 A.M. in their Division areas.  Division areas will be marked in numerical order and unit leaders will be responsible for assembly of their group in the proper positions.

Staff officers will report to Lt. Col. Richard D. Cosgrove, Chief of Staff, at the parade starting point.

The distance between units will be 50 feet and all unit leaders will be responsible for maintaining this distance throughout the parade.

The parade will move out promptly at 9:30 A.M. and the line of march will be as follows:  From South Main Street to Main Street to North Elm Street to Prospect Street, south to Water Street, to Main Street, to Litchfield Street, and Coe Park, where Memorial Day exercises will be held.

DIVISION ONE

At approximately 10:00 A.M. The Connecticut Air Guard will fly over the route of the parade.

GENERAL REGULATIONS

The United States Flag will be the only national colors to be  carried in the parade.  Post Department and Organizational colors are permissible.

The throwing of candy or other items from parade floats is strictly prohibited.

Banners of a political nature are barred from the parade.

Floats will be of Memorial Day theme.

Citizens are requested to display the flag of the United States on Memorial Day at half-staff until noon, then full-staff.
