School Resource Officer
The objective of the School Resource officer is to provide a safe environment for the children while on school campus. The City of Torrington currently has one School Resource Officer who is assigned to the Torrington High School. This full time position runs from September thru June.
The officer serves as a liaison between school officials and the police department. He provides security on school campus and serves as a mentor to children. He also provides lectures in Constitutional Law, DWI Laws, Radar Enforcement and Traffic Laws.
This position is yet another facet of "Community Policing" within the City of Torrington.
