SOLID WASTE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Mission Statement
“The Solid Waste Advisory Committee investigates the needs of the Community for Solid Waste Management Services. The committee proposes the development of programs and policies to minimize costs while maintaining the proper level of service.”
Accomplishments
· Performed an Automated Trash Collection Pilot Program in 2003/2004.
· Updated Residential Curb Side Collection Contract effective July 2004.
· Started City Wide Automated Trash Collection on November 1, 2004.
Goals
· Investigate Development of a Fee Based system for residential solid waste services.
· Expand the Drop Site Recycling services to include C&D Waste Management.
· Investigate and recommend changes in the non-processible , metal and yard wastes programs.
· Provide recycling education for residential and commercial customers.
· Review Household Hazardous Waste services and costs.
· Investigate development of a composting program.
· CRRA Contract renewal research and recommendations.
