Park & Rec Activities

Registration Policies

PLEASE NOTE: Parking is not allowed in the Litchfield Ins. Group’s parking lot located across from the side of the Armory.  Parking is available in the Fuessenich Park parking lot for anyone entering the Armory.

1.  In-person registration for Summer Playground will take place beginning Saturday May 6 from  900-1100 am   In-person registration for swim lessons will take place beginning Saturday, May 20 from 9:00-11:00 am.  Registration for both programs will take place at the Torrington Armory. Mail in registrations will not be accepted for these programs.  Deadline for registrations is Monday, June 16, 2006.

2.  Registrations for trips and leagues must be made in person at the Torrington Parks and Recreation Department Office. Deadline for mail-in registrations for summer camps and clinics is June 5, 2006.

3.  Registration for all other programs lessons etc. may be made in person or be mailed to the Recreation Department at 153 South Main Street, Torrington, Ct. 06790. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked one week prior to start of any program.

4. Please observe any deadlines indicated.  Absolutely No late registrations accepted.  Late registrations will be returned.     Registrations accepted on first come first serve basis.

5. Eligibility for our programs: Torrington residents are given first priority to register for all programs.                Non-Residents may  register for programs on an availability basis one week prior to the start of the program . This does not apply to adult sports leagues, golf lessons and trips.

6.  A limited number of scholarships are available through the Parks and Recreation Department .  Please contact the Recreation Department office if you need financial assistance.  Determined by class size and program.

7. When enrollment is limited, classes and/or leagues may be canceled and/or combined.  All programs in this       brochure are subject to change.

8. Waiting list: If the program you wish to register for is filled, you will be placed on a waiting list and notified       immediately when an opening occurs.

9. Credit/Refund Policy: If a program is cancelled by TPR, a full refund/credit will be given.  Requests for refunds made 2 weeks or more prior to start of any program will be refunded.

10. Once a program has started, no refunds/credits will be given, with the exception of a medical reason accompanied by a written physician’s note – in this case, a pro-rated refund/credit, less a $5.00 processing fee, will be given.

Refund Policy for trips:
Up until 2 weeks prior to the trip, full refunds/credits will be given only if the program’s minimum participant        requirement is still met - otherwise there will be no refunds on trips.

To receive a refund check, a written request must be submitted.
