Referendum January 25, 2022

Torrington Voters and Property Owners are invited to vote in a Referendum on January 25, 2021 on the following question:  “Shall the City of Torrington appropriate an additional $20,000,000 (thereby increasing the appropriation and bond authorization approved by the voters on November 3, 2020 from $159,575,000 to $179,575,000) for the construction of a new high school, a new middle school, a new central administrative office, and for the demolition of the existing Torrington High School, and authorize the issuance of general obligation bonds and notes in the same amount to finance said appropriation?  Yes ____ No ____”  Voting hours are 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and City Hall will be the only polling place.

Absentee Ballot applications are available now, by clicking here.  Please note that CoVid or Fear of CoVid is no longer a valid excuse for an Absentee Ballot.  Applications may be dropped off at the City Clerk's office during regular business hours, deposited in the white Elections box outside of City Hall or mailed to the City Clerk, 140 Main St. Torrington, CT 06790
