Regulations 

The following are all the regulations enforced and applied by the Land Use Office:

• Zoning Regulations - Regulates the location of structures on land within specific zones; regulate uses on land within specific zones and manage the development and growth of Torrington. Includes a table of use, setback requirements, site plan and special exception requirements, conservation subdivisions, estate lots, farm requirements, landscape and environmental requirements as well as enforcement requirements.
• Subdivision Regulations - Regulates the subdivision or resubdivision of property within Torrington. Includes topics of housing density, open space, infrastructure requirements etc.
• Inland Wetland Regulations - Regulates the care and management of all wetland and watercourses within Torrington. Includes required setbacks, definitions and exemptions.
