Veterans Memorial Committee

CANCELLED: Vietnam Veterans Day Observance

Location: Coe Park

Event Date: Sunday, March 29, 2020 @ 12:30pm

The Torrington Veterans Memorial Committee and its member groups invite the public, current military personnel, and all Veterans, especially the men and women who served during the Vietnam War era, to join them in their observance of Vietnam Veterans Day on Sunday, March 29, 2020. The program will be held, rain or shine, at Torrington’s Coe Park and will begin approximately 12:30 PM.

While we were at war with Vietnam, when the men and women in uniform were seen in public few were shown respect or gratitude and far too many were actually insulted or abused.

Please make every effort to join us in honoring the men and women who served during the Vietnam War era with the same respect, gratitude, and appreciation we show today to all our Veterans, and active military personnel.

In the case of inclement, or cold, weather the ceremony will be held inside the Coe Park Civic Center.

If anyone has an American flag that is torn, faded, or otherwise damaged they may bring it to the ceremony, a member of a Veterans organization will take the flag and see that it is properly retired.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Veteran’s Service Office at (860) 489-2531 by Monday March 23, 2020.
