ARPA Façade and Building Improvements Grant – Round 2

On the recommendation of the ARPA Committee, vote to approve the following Grant Application requests:

 

  1. Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts, 58 Main Street, exterior painting, $5,488
  2. Glen Royals, 187 S. Main St, Repair Brick and Façade, $25,000
  3. Sherrie Pergola, LLC, 247 N. Elm Street, Storefront renovations, lighting, roof, and wall repair to include new decorative post and architectural detail on top of the parapet, $25,000

 

ARPA - Community Impact Grant Recommendations

On the recommendation of the ARPA Committee, vote to approve the following grant requests:

 

  1. CAFTA, Video Production equipment to expand on-site Community Programming, $45,000
  2. Creative Kids Daycare, Capital improvements to the childcare facility, $19,650
  3. Energy Partners, LLC (Energy Fitness), Medical Fitness Equipment, $17,100
  4. Five Points Center for the Visual Arts, Renovations of Courtyard, $30,000
  5. Friendly Hands Food Bank, Walk-in Freezer, $35,700
  6. KidsPlay Children’s Museum, Security System upgrades, $74,270
  7. McCall Center for Behavioral Health, Parenting Support Services, $20,000
  8. Northwest CT Arts Council, Microgrants for arts & culture initiatives, $15,000
  9. Prime Time House, Prime Thinking start-up, $32,000
  10. Susan B. Anthony, Rebuilding Lives Program, $25,000
  11. Torrington Volunteer Fire Department, SCBA Gear, $65,000
  12. Torrington American Legion Post 36, Youth Baseball Program, $20,000
  13. Torrington Child Care Center, Shared Social worker, $48,000
  14. Torrington Development Corporation, Executive Director, $171,000

  1. Catholic Charities, Mental health & addiction treatment programs
  2. Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Part-time child & adolescent mental health coordinator
  3. Greenwoods Counseling & Referrals expanded clinical services
  4. Northwest CT YMCA, Middle School Be Active Program
  5. Women’s Business Development Council, technical assistance to local businesses

 

ARPA - Community Impact Grant Recommendations

On the recommendation of the ARPA Committee, vote to not fund the following grant requests:

  1. Challenging Minds, Emotion-Focused Therapy in Torrington Public Schools
  2. Community Kitchen of Torrington, ductless heating system
  3. Community Kitchen of Torrington, dedicated behavioral health counselor
  4. Mental Health CT, After-school GROW Program
  5. New Opportunities, Project ICAN-WD to assist Torrington residents
  6. Tequanna’s Soul Food & Sweets, meals & community engagement for homeless & individuals living with disabilities.
  7. The B.E.R.E.A.D.Y project, Mom2Mom Groups
  8. Torrington Downtown Partners, lighting on all buildings affiliated with the partnership
