UPDATED INFORMATION ON COVID TEST KIT DISTRIBUTION

UPDATED INFORMATION ON COVID TEST KIT AND N95 MASK DISTRIBUTION:

On Wednesday January 5, 2022 the City of Torrington is expected to receive and distribute our allotment of “At Home Covid Test Kits” and N95 masks. As before these kits will be distributed to Torrington residents only and those wishing to receive a kit will be required to show a governmental ID showing residency. So have your identification ready. There will be a 2 kit per car limit.

The distribution location has been changed to 855 University Drive (The old Torrington UCONN branch, and current Five Points Center for Visual Arts building) and will begin at 10 AM with one-way traffic entering the parking lot at the main entrance (there will be signage and direction on location). The distribution is scheduled to run until 1 PM, though it is expected to end much sooner because of the demand versus current supply.

As you can imagine, the logistics of queuing up over a thousand cars for COVID test kit distribution is complex. With schools in session, our “go to” sites that take traffic off the main roads are simply not an option. So a heartfelt thank you goes to 5 POINTS ARTS CENTER on University Drive (the former UCONN campus) for being our partner in COVID community care. Thank you Torrington PD, Torrington FD and our CERT volunteers for your coordination and execution.
