PAVING VARIOUS ROADS PHASE 2022.5.2

Sealed bids will be received by the City of Torrington, at the office of the City Purchasing Agent, City Hall, Room 206, 140 Main Street, Torrington, Connecticut until May 25, 2022 at 11:30 A.M., at which time and place they will be opened and reviewed. In the event of the closure of City Hall, the bid will be opened on the following business day at 11:00 AM that City Hall is open. No fax or e-mail Bids will be accepted.

 

The project work includes overlay paving of approximately 2 miles of various roads and associated miscellaneous work. Roads include; Albany Street, Beverly Road, Buena Vista Avenue, Clearview Avenue, Davis Street, Elmira Avenue, and Whitewood Road.

 

Bidders must register on the City’s website at www.torringtonct.org/bids to download the bid documents under “BIDS & RFPS”. Those without internet access may call (860) 489-2225 to request the bid documents. All questions shall be submitted in writing to the City Purchasing Agent no later than Monday May 16, 2022 at 12 noon.

A bid bond in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid shall accompany each bid. A non-collusion statement for Prime Contractor and any addendum acknowledgement must also be submitted at the time of the bid.

 

A performance, labor, and materials bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the accepted bid will be required.

 

The City of Torrington reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, or to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid, and to award the contract as it feels will best serve the public interest.

 

All bids will be considered valid for a period of sixty (60) days.
