ROBOTIC TOTAL STATION AND GPS RECEIVER SYSTEM

The City of Torrington will be accepting sealed bids for the Purchase and Set-up of Robotic Total Station & Survey Grade GPS Receiver System per specifications.

 

Evaluation and selection of the successful bidder shall be based on the lump sum bid price of the survey equipment meeting of the specifications. Product information sheets for all materials to be provided with submitted bid.

 

Vendor demonstrations shall be required at the City of Torrington Engineering Department to determine adherence to the equipment specifications.

All sealed bids will be received by the City of Torrington at the office of the Purchasing Agent, City Hall, 140 Main Street, Room 206, Torrington, CT 06790 no later than 11:00 AM, January 28, 2020. One original and two (2) exact copies shall be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly marked “BID RGS-027-012820, ROBOTIC TOTAL STATION AND GPS RECEIVER SYSTEM”. Proposals received later than time and date specified will not be considered. In the event of the closure of City Hall, the bid will be opened on the following business day that City Hall is opened. Firms mailing proposals should allow for normal delivery time to ensure timely receipt of their proposals. The City will not be liable for any costs incurred by vendor in the preparation or submission of a bid. No faxed or e-mail Bids will be accepted.

 

The City of Torrington reserves the right to award or reject any and all bids, or any portion thereof, to waive technicalities, to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid and, to award the contract as its judgment, will best serve the public interest.

 

This Bid shall remain open and shall not be withdraw for a period of sixty-(60) days from the date set for its opening. The sixty-(60) day period may be extended upon written mutual agreement.

 

Bid Price shall include all necessary hardware, software, equipment, installation, training and freight/shipping to the City of Torrington Engineering Department Office, 140 Main Street, Room 307, Torrington, CT 06790. The awarded company shall provide technical assistance and support (on site if required) during the installation process. No additional purchases shall have to be made to complete this turnkey Robotic Total station & GPS survey equipment.

 

All bids must include the firm’s name and be signed by a responsible officer or employee of the firm submitting the bid.

 

The bidder shall provide at least three (3) references of companies or agencies that have purchased similar equipment from bidder. Include contact names, phone number(s) and email address. References will be checked prior to award. Any negative responses may result in disqualification of the bid.

 

The City will award the Contract to a responsive and responsible Bidder submitting the lowest bid, as subject to City rules and regulations.

 10.  Prior to actual acceptance and usage by the Engineering Department, the unit shall be completely certified by the successful bidder or his/her authorized agent according to the  manufacturer’s specifications.  

 

The City of Torrington reserves the right to award or reject any or all bids, or any portion thereof, to waive technicalities, to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid and to award the bid and/or contracts to one or more bidders submitting essentially identical proposals, and that in the city’s judgment, will best serve the public interest.
