SULLIVAN SENIOR CENTER KITCHEN UPGRADE

The City of Torrington is accepting sealed proposals to furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, vehicles, and superintendence for the purchase and installation of an Exhaust Hood and Fan System and a Fire Suppression System for the Sullivan Senior Center. ALSO INCLUDED is the removal & disposal of all old equipment and waste materials in this Turnkey project by the awarded contractor. Additional work may include: Purchase and installation of one (1) Commercial 60-Inch, 6 Burner Gas Range w/griddle and convection ovens for Torrington Sullivan Senior Center. Dumpster if necessary, shall be provided by the contractor at contractor’s expense.

 

One original and three (3) exact copies shall be placed in a sealed envelope and clearly marked RFP # SKU-016-033120, SULLIVAN SENIOR CENTER KITCHEN UPGRADE. Proposals will be received at the Office of the Purchasing Agent, City Hall, 140 Main Street, Room 206, Torrington, CT 06790 until March 31, 2020 by 11:00 A.M. Proposals received later than date and time specified will not be accepted. In the event of the closure of City Hall, proposals will be opened on the following business day that City Hall reopens for business, no later than 11:00 a.m. on that day. Bids shall be submitted in a clear, concise and legible manner to permit proper evaluation. All prices and notations must be typed or printed in ink. No erasures are permitted. Mistakes may be crossed out and corrections must be initialed in ink by the person signing the bid. Contractors mailing proposals should allow for normal delivery time to ensure timely receipt of their proposals. All proposals and materials become property of the City and will not be returned. No faxed or e-mailed proposals will be accepted.

 

The City will not be liable for any costs incurred in the preparation of the response for this Request for Proposal. Any alleged oral agreement made by a bidder or contractor with any agency or employee of the City of Torrington will be disregarded.

 

To schedule a pre-bid walk through at the Sullivan Senior Center, 88 East Albert Street, Torrington, CT 06790 to review the set-up and location of range along with the Exhaust Hood and Fan and Fire Suppression System contact Senior Center Director Joel Sekorski for an appointment before March 18, 2020 at 4:00 PM.

 

Questions will be received no later than 4:00 P.M. on March 23, 2020 after which time no additional questions will be accepted. All questions submitted to Pennie Zucco, pennie_zucco@torringtonct.org. All information by the City except by written addendum shall be informal and shall not be binding upon the City nor shall it furnish a basis for legal action by any proposer against the City. Vendor responsible to check City website for addendum/updates 48 hours prior to bid opening. Acknowledgement of addendum is required.

 

This Bid shall remain open and shall not be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days from the date set for its opening. Pricing must be held firm for the duration of contract.

 

The City of Torrington reserves the right to award or reject any or all bids, or any portion thereof, to waive technicalities, to award the contract to a bidder other than the lowest bid and to award the bid and/or contracts to one or more bidders submitting essentially identical proposals and, that in the city’s judgment will best serve the public interest.
